First Choice America Recognized

First Choice America recognized by the Weirton mayor for community involvement.

First Choice America Community Federal Credit Union was honored by Weirton Mayor Dean Harris on Monday, July 6, 2026 at a ceremony dedicating a mural in downtown Weirton. The Credit Union worked in conjunction with the city to utilize its parking lot to facilitate Sarah Robinson, an Oak Glen High School graduate, to paint the beautiful mural.   Mayor Harris further recognized First Choice America as a prominent community leader and commended the Credit Union for its long-standing commitment in helping the Weirton community whenever needed.   Accepting the award from Mayor Dean Harris is Scott Winwood, President and CEO of First Choice America Community Federal Credit Union.

WSX 25-Year Club

Weirton Steel 25 Year Club donation picture

Supported by a generous contribution from First Choice America Credit Union, the Weirton Steel 25-Year Club will stage its ladies and men’s annual summer picnic on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the Serbian Picnic Grounds in Weirton.  The 25-Year club has been in existence for 80 years.  This year’s picnic is for the employees and retirees of the former Weirton Steel Corporation/Arcelor Mittal/Cleveland Cliffs.

Supporting Relay for Life

Helping to fight the battle against cancer, First Choice America Credit Union is a Platinum Level Sponsor for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.  The 2026 Relay for Life of Brooke/Hancock Counties is scheduled for Saturday, June 6th at Wellsburg Central Park from 6pm to 11pm.

2026 Essay Contest

April is “Teach Your Child to Save Month” so First Choice America would like to get our youth excited about saving with an essay contest. For Students in 5th thru 8th grade, in one hundred words or less please answer the following question:

What is something you want to save money for, and how would you start saving it?

All essays need to have the student’s name, grade and telephone number or school on the
essay.   All essays need to be turned in by April 30th at any of our eight locations. Or you can send it by mail to: First Choice America Community Federal Credit Union, Attention: Marketing, 3501 Main Street, Weirton, WV  26062.  Winners will receive a $50 VISA Gift Card.

2026 Coloring Contest

April is “Teach Your Child to Save Month!” We strongly encourage all children to save. It is never too early to start saving! To celebrate “Teach Your Child to Save Month,” First Choice America is having a Coloring Contest! The contest is for Kindergarten through 4th Grade. The sheet can be downloaded from this page and then will need to be sent back to the Credit Union either by mail or at any of our eight locations. If you choose to send it in by mail, please send it to:  First Choice America Credit Union, Attention: Marketing, 3501 Main Street, Weirton, WV 26062. To enter, on the back of the sheet please put your child’s name, grade level (K, 1, 2, 3, or 4) and phone number. The contest ends on April 30th.
