WSX 25-Year Club Picnic Gets Boost

Supported by a generous contribution from First Choice America Credit Union, the Weirton Steel 25-Year Club will stage its ladies and men’s annual summer picnic on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Serbian Picnic Grounds in Weirton. The 25-Year club has been in existence for over 75 years. This year’s picnic is not only for the employees and retirees of the former Weirton Steel Corporation/Arcelor Mittal plant with 25 years of service but also for active employees at Cleveland Cliffs.

Helping the Fight Against Cancer

Helping to fight the battle against cancer, First Choice America Credit Union is a Gold Level Sponsor for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. The 2024 Relay for Life of Brooke/Hancock Counties is scheduled for Saturday, June 1st at Central Park in Wellsburg from 6pm to 11pm.

Celebrating 85 Years

First Choice America’s 85th anniversary celebration on May 17, 2024 attracted thousands of members to our eight offices for swag bags and prizes. Each person was given a commemorative goodie bag filled with several give-away items including souvenir 85th anniversary logo key rings.
Each office awarded five $85 cash prizes to members. The Credit Union also awarded five surprise $85 prizes to members who used the Credit Union’s electronic services on May 17th. There was one grand prize winner of a $500 VISA Gift card. The grand prize winner was Michael Gooderl.
The Credit Union was founded on May 17, 1939, and by the end of that year, listed 977 members and assets of $20,000. Today, First Choice America with over 33,500 members and assets of approximately $625 million and ranks as the second largest credit union in West Virginia.
Run for the Roses

First Choice America Community Federal Credit Union once again made a significant donation in support of the 2024 Weirton Rotary Club’s Kentucky Derby fundraiser. Pictured are Scott E. Winwood, President and CEO of First Choice America and Mike Gianni, Rotary member. This year’s 150th Kentucky Derby “Run For The Roses” will be held at the Holiday Inn of Weirton on Saturday, May 4th. Doors open at 4:45pm with a derby themed dinner, a photo booth and music.
